Area Information

Drimnin is located on the mainland south side of the Morvern peninsula, opposite Tobermory on the Island of Mull.
Drimnin is an excellent place to enjoy a change from the usual routine of life and have a good rest.
A small slip at the end of the road and a sheltered bay, is ideal for those who would like to bring a boat and perhaps fish.
Along the rocky coast and through the forest or on the moor land hills, there are many walks possible varying in distance and difficulty. Some walks are well established and have been sign posted through lottery funds.
Please remember to bring sensible footwear, waterproof outer clothing, maps & compass if you plan longer walks.
For those wishing to travel further afield, there is Ardtornish House Gardens at the head of Lochaline itself and four designated sites of special scientific interest. There is easy access to Mull by car ferry from Lochaline to Fishnish, from where the islands of Iona, Staffa and Fingals Cave can be visited.
A passenger ferry runs every Monday & Friday from Drimnin to Tobermory on Isle of Mull, and returns after approximately three hours.

Travel Directions:  Drive up the west coast A82 towards Fort William, locate ferry at Corran/Ardgour. Having crossed Loch Linnhe to Ardgour (approx. 20 mins) turn left off the ferry taking the A861 to Strontian, some 12 miles from Ardgour, turn left on to the A884 towards Lochaline, after 17 miles on the final descent into the village of Lochaline. Take the right turn, sign posted to 'Drimnin'.
This final 11 mile leg of your journey will take you up the side of the Sound of Mull to Drimnin.
