Morvern is a great escape for some peace & quiet although there are numerous other things to see & do eg: Great walking and Fishing area, Ardtornish House Gardens at the head of Lochaline, where there is also easy access to Mull by car ferry from Lochaline to Fishnish, from where the islands of Iona, Staffa and Fingals Cave can be visited.

Tobermory on the Isle of Mull has plenty of eating places and evening entertainment in Tobermory and a variety of activities for the whole family throughout the day, including the Tobermory Golf Club. All of this within a most beautiful island setting where peace reigns supreme.

Fort William "The Outdoor Capital of the UK" has much to offer including one of Scotland's finest scenic rail journey's from Fort Willliam to Mallaig on the Jacobite steam train, wonderful mountain scenery around Ben Nevis, great activities from walking, climbing, go-karting etc. to a range of water sports. In winter Fort William has super facilities for skiing and snowboarding at the Nevis Range, Aonach Mor.

Fort Augustus & Invergarry by Loch Ness.... There are restaurants and pubs in plentiful in this area, also convenience stores, craft shops, bike hire and a rare breeds farm. Cruises can be booked for Loch Ness and the Caledonian canal.
It goes without saying the area is famed for its beautiful scenery, walks and cycle routes everywhere, including the Great Glen cycle track between Fort William and Inverness.

Appin, Loch Creran, Benderloch, Loch Awe & Taynuilt - North Shian in Appin is only a 20 minute drive to Glencoe - a veritable haven for 'Munro Baggers', there are numerous 'Munros' and 'Corbetts' in the area and nearby facilities include Sea Life Sanctuary, boat/fishing hire, a riding centre, mountain-bike hire, sea kayaking, canyoning and a multitude of other outdoor activities. Benderloch is located on the coast between Glencoe and Oban, 5 miles from the Sea Life Centre. There is an abundance of things to see & do in this area.
We have a few B&B's close to Loch Awe, which is renowned for it's fishing... both Trout & Pike. Taynuilt village nestles at the foot of Ben Cruachan - one of our Scottish Munros, and is an ideal place to stay whether you are looking to tour the area on foot, by bicycle, car, bus or train. There is plenty to see and do for all ages. Try exploring the historic ironworks, venturing inside the hollow mountain, lazing on the beach, cruising on loch Etive, playing a round of golf, visiting the smokehouse exhibition, walking the forest tracks or visiting a garden.

Oban is "The Gateway to the Isles" with fantastic ferry trips to the Islands in the Inner & Outer Hebrides. Also Day trips to the Islands of Mull and Iona and some of the smaller islands around Oban such as Kerrera & Lismore. Oban also has it's own Distillery, 18 hole golf course and is a great area for fishing, walking etc.

Kintyre Peninsula - From the sailing haven of Tarbert to the whisky town of Campbeltown and on to the Mull of Kintyre which is immortalised in the song of the same name by Paul McCartney. Great golf courses, including Machrihanish which also has a wonderful sandy beach. Historic castles to visit and abundant wildlife. Explore the surrounding islands of Gigha, Islay, Jura and Arran

Dumfries & Galloway - The area is rich in historical and archaelogical remains. The local villages have their own unique historical attractions from a stunning Viking carved stone in Kirkcolm to a 19th century lighthouse or various monuments, ruin castles and churches which await you. Other activities in the area include golf, fishing, shooting, bowling, pony trekking, wind surfing and sailing. When wet, the local town of Stranraer offers shopping, indoor sports facilities, museums and much more. Full day excursions and tours to Northern Ireland are offered by Stena Line and P & O Line, which will complete any holiday or short break.

East Lothian near Edinburgh - There's something for everyone in and around East Lothian & Edinburgh. Whether you are visiting the Edinburgh Festival & Fringe, or looking for your Scottish Ancestors and Genealogy of Scotland with New Register House close by. The Rowans We are located in Connel, one of the most picturesque villages on the West Coast of Scotland, just 5 miles from Oban. The Rowans is a modern house with views over Loch Etive to the Islands of Mull and Lismore beyond. We have three bedrooms - two doubles and a twin bedded room. The house and most of the guest rooms look onto Loch Etive. We are metres away from the Falls of Lora which is Britain's only tidal waterfall. Glencoe, Fort William, Nevis and Crinan are all within a 45 minute drive. For kayakers, divers and anglers there is access to water just across the road.
We are also just a short walk from a fantastic restaurant with a varied menu but with an emphasis on fresh local seafood.
