Fascadale
with Islands of Rhum, Eigg & Muck
|
Situated on the northern coast of Ardnamurchan, in the West Highlands
of Scotland, Fascadale was the centre of the salmon fishing activities
for the peninsula. Although the ice ponds have gone the Ice House
still remains and is now a listed building. Salmon netting no longer
takes place at Fascadale but the coastal waters around Ardnamurchan
are among the few areas left in the country where legal salmon netting
still takes place using the same traditional and sustainable methods
which have not changed for hundreds of years.
|
Nesting close to the shore of Fascadale Bay, in a designated National
Scenic Area, the size of our three new, well-appointed houses is not
immediately apparent. Designed to fit into the landscape they have
been built into the hillside and offer luxurious accommodation for
all those wishing to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area as well
as the magnificent rugged scenery which can be viewed from the comfort
of relaxing surroundings.
|
On a clear day the islands of Muck, Rhum, Eigg and even Skye can
be seen as well as stunning sunsets and sunrises. Stormier weather
offers an opportunity to watch the waves as they crash over the rocky
shore or run up the private and secluded sandy beach.
