The Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT) is a non-governmental membership organisation with more than 28,500 members. Formed in 1964 by a band of enthusiastic people who cared about preserving Scottish wildlife SWT steadily grew to Scotland’s leading wildlife conservation charity. Whilst our Headquarters are based in Edinburgh, SWT now owns or manages more than 120 wildlife reserves across Scotland – from Dowalton Marshes on the Solway to Hill of White Hamaars on Orkney and from the Isle of Eigg on the west coast to Montrose Basin on the east coast. Since 2002 SWT has co-ordinated Scottish Wildlife Week.
This highly successful event has grown rapidly from 26 events in the very beginning to 166 events throughout Scotland this year.
Scottish Wildlife Week aims to promote an interest in Scottish wildlife amongst the people of Scotland and overseas visitors.
