For my HND Project class I did a 3 track demo of my original Material
in the college studio using Protools and a Yamaha O2R96 mixing desk.

I volunteered to take part in doing the front of house sound for the
Ayr Jazz Festival which took part in two hotels in Ayr. There were four
of us and we were left to do the sound as the man in charge could not
be there in time. We did a great job and all the musicians, and more
importantly the audience, were happy with the sound.
We did the following tasks at the Jazz Festival:
Planning, risk assessing, stage plans, set up of stage, set up of equipment
and microphones, mixing, de-rigging at end of night and transporting
the equipment back to college.
It was a 6 hour night and I found it very enjoyable and very much worth
my while.
Through the College I visited BBC Scotland in Glasgow and had a look
around the different studios and got the chance to sit and watch the
engineer doing the Radio 1 show with Vic and Jill live on air.
I also visited Cava studios and watched the mixing of some songs recorded
earlier that day within Protools.
Dave the engineer gave me a lot of tips and shortcuts which I am very
grateful for.
